Communication Survey

Communicating with parents, carers and the community is very important to Moriac Primary School. There are many reasons for schools to communicate and we are keen to implement a simple and effective system for our community. We are also committed to decreasing our environmental footprint by significantly reducing the amount of paper we consume.
The school recognises that it is easy to be swamped by multiple forms of communication arriving at the home and has resolved to streamline the process. Below are the current reasons for communication. The school hopes that your input can assist in the development of a more manageable process.

Academic Reports, Attitude & Behaviour, Descriptive Comments, Curriculum Continuum Tracker, Family Information Update, Attendance Records, School Calendar, Newsletter, Parent/Teacher Messaging, School Notifications, Events Reminders, News, Celebrations, School Information, Values, Vision, Purpose, Forms, Policies, Permission Forms, Medical Information Updates, Notices, Consent Forms, Incident Reports, On/Off Bus, Out of School Hours Care.

To help the school to determine an effective communication strategy going forward, we request that you complete a brief survey. It asks five questions about your preferred communication channels. Your input is extremely important to the school.

The survey will take less than five minutes. The link is:

What a fantastic day (apart from the rain)!

We had a wonderful turnout from parents to watch our parade at 10.30am. Our school captains ran the parade with Mr Durkin, Mr Smith and Norma as our judges. There were books awarded as prizes for each year level.

It was fantastic to see so many wonderful original, homemade and thoughtful costumes on display. We thank everyone who was involved for their hard work.

Olympic Games Morning – Tuesday 16th August

On Tuesday Mr Randall along with some Parent & Friend helpers (thank you for those parents – we always appreciate the assistance we receive) organised and ran an ‘Olympic Games Morning’ to compliment all the work that has been done within the classrooms.

P – 2 spent 9 -11 am participating in lots of different activities and 3/4 9-10 am and 5/6 10-11 am participating in different activities. They rotated through activities around the school including medal making, relay races and decorating donuts in Olympic colours.

There was lots of fun had by all!

NAPLAN Results

Dear Parents of Year 3 and Year 5 Students
Individual NAPLAN results are being sent home today (Friday 19th August). Please seek clarity from us if you have any queries. I can share that the school’s results in Years 3 and 5 across all areas increased quite significantly this year. This is a credit to your child’s commitment to improve and the hard work done by teachers and parents. There will be a report of the school’s overall results once we have collated them.

Congratulations Henny

Congratulations to our ‘Lollypop Lady’ Henny Berends who was today presented with a service award for ten years ensuring Moriac students cross the road safely. Always smiling, thank you Henny.
