BOOK FAIR – NEXT WEEK! Tues 11th Nov – Fri 14th Nov

Tuesday 11th November until Friday 14th November 2014

Location: School Library
Opening hours: Tues: 3:00 –3-45pm
Wed to Fri: 8:30-9:30am & 3:00-3:45pm
EFTPOS and Credit Card facilities available.
For those who haven’t experienced a book fair before, it is a great display of books that you and your children can come and view. The
books are available for purchase and every book sold at the Fair earns free books for our school. This is a great opportunity to get
some of your Christmas shopping done and earn some free books for the school at the same time.

Each class will be given the opportunity to view the Book Fair with their teacher and our librarians. During this time, the children will be
able to fill out a ‘Wish List’ that will allow them to write down a few items from the Book Fair that they would like to read. These lists will
be sent home to parents to give them an idea of their child’s reading preferences. This may assist parents shopping for a gift for their
child. If a parent is unable to attend the Book Fair but would like to purchase a book for their child, they can complete the payment
details on the back of the Wish List and return it to school in an envelope.

We need your help! We are looking for some parents to assist with setting up the book fair (Tues 11th Nov,9am), helping out during
any of the fair open times and packing up the book fair (Friday 14 Nov after closing). If you can spare ½ hour it would be greatly appreciated – please contact Debbie 52661423 if you can help.

What a wonderful turn out to the Father’s Day breakfast. It was great to see so many Father’s and special people come to the breakfast.

A MASSIVE thank you to the mothers who assisted with the organisation and cooking of the yummy breakfast (thank you to Jodie Frisch for co-coordinating the event).

As well a a big thank you to the mothers who ran the wonderful Father’s Day Stall.

Trivia Night – POSTPONED

After much discussion we have decided to POSTPONE the trivia night. Due to a number of factors (including the late notice of the final round of the AFL season) we have decided to POSTPONE the Trivia Night to a date to be advised (possibly October).
Thank you for those who had booked a table and we will be in touch.

Book Week Parade!

What a great parade. The work put in by parents and students to dress up was fantastic. Students spent the lead up to the parade reviewing the shortlisted books  2014 Book of the Year Awards in Library sessions and writing why they chose particular books. They also wrote reviews about their own favorite books in reading sessions in class.

A huge thanks to Prep teacher Morgan Batson and our wonderful volunteer Librarians, Norma Phillips and Lynne Elliott for the work they all did to make the day a success.  Some pics below.
