Olympics in the Preps

Olympics in the Preps

Throughout the Olympic Games the Preps have immersed their learning to include all things Olympics. Below are some photos showing activities being completed with an Olympic focus. Students are really enjoying following their table country during these Olympics.

In addition, students are;

  • Sounding out Olympic themed words using THRASS
  • Developing fine motor skills when creating their own Olympic Rings
  • Developing an understanding of simple tally boards as we follow five countries
  • Design personal athlete uniforms.

Vale

It is with utter shock and sadness that the school learned of the passing of one of our ex-students. Ben will be remembered as a lad who liked a joke, loved his sport and made very special bonds with staff members who supported him through some tough times. Our condolences and thoughts go out to family and friends.

Part of the fabric of Moriac Primary School always, Ben. Rest In Peace.

If you think that you or someone you know may be experiencing depression, please contact your doctor or health professional. Further information is also available at www.beyondblue.org.au.

The Music Bus is a hi-tech mobile classroom that visits schools and provides music lessons.  Instrumentation taught include keyboard, guitar, drums, ukulele and singing. If there is enough parent interest in this program, we are looking to make The Music Bus our main provider of instrumentation lessons at the school. The Music Bus will be giving a school wide demonstration of its services at 2.30pm for students, staff and parents. We invite parents and friends who are interested in seeing The Music Bus for themselves to please come along.

Classroom Library

As you all know we are moving our library into the classrooms as we are expecting the library to be demolished during the September school holidays (to the best of our knowledge at this time).

The students are very excited about having the books in their rooms! We would like to send out a massive thank you to our wonderful volunteers Jo, Norma and Terri for all the work they have done packing the books and dividing them into the classrooms. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated by our staff and students.

100 up for our Preps

Congratulations to our Preps who have just reached the 100 days at school milestone. Great crowd to celebrate with them, including our other students, staff, parents, grandparents and other family. 2500 to go until VCE is completed!
